How do you go about dimensioning slots in drawings? In SW I would create the dimensions, edit the radius one to add SLOT at the begining and then select the length dimension to add it to the string. Then the dimensions were linked to the part and not just dumb text. I am not finding a simular function here. In a drawing only the key dimensions can now be inserted into the drawing by selecting “Not marked for drawing”, from the Dimension section of “Model Items”. NOTE: Starting with SolidWorks 2013, you can choose to only insert dimensions that have tolerances assigned. The slot center mark placement options affect all center marks you place in slots, not just the ones SOLIDWORKS places in drawing views automatically. To manually place a center mark in a slot, select Slot center mark for Manual Insert Options in the Center Mark PropertyManager. Now, I want to make a drawing of this part, so I created a new drawing and inserted the appropriate view of my part. It will insert all the dimensions to the drawing, except with the splines, it does the following: it inserts the dimensions to the points of the splines, and that's it. I am having trouble dimensioning this part in Solidworks. The drawing is to be a manufacturing drawing, so needs to be very accurate. There cant be any tolerance stacking on any of the slots. I have tried using datum's, however to dimension all of the slots this way would over clutter the page imo.
